Helping people be the best they can be in the midst of life’s challenges. Life frequently brings changes into people’s lives. Many changes can be classified as part of the events of the normal life cycle. But sometimes changes are a result of unexpected life developments. Sometimes we can handle them well and other times changes overwhelm us. Who among us has totally anticipated the impact of a serious illness, a divorce, the sudden death of a friend or loved one, the empty house when the last child leaves for school, the stress on a marriage when the children begin to arrive, the loss of a job, the aging of parents, the marriage of children, the in-laws, and the list goes on and is as individual as each one of us. Often the result is sadness, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, and confusion. These are the time when a good therapist can help you find your way to navigate the turbulence of change, help you draw on your strengths, learn new skills and find out that you will survive and that you have the opportunity to grow in ways perhaps you never dreamed you could. |
